About the Program
The C.O.A.S.T. program — Check On A Senior Today — is a free service provided by the Floyd County Sheriff's Office to help ensure the safety and well-being of senior citizens in our community.
Trained deputies regularly call enrolled seniors to check on their welfare, providing peace of mind for both participants and their families. Participants receive check-in calls typically three times a week, with increased frequency during urgent situations or severe weather.
This program reflects our commitment to serving all members of the Floyd County community — especially those who may benefit most from a friendly check-in and the assurance that help is never far away.
What We Do
Services Provided
Beyond regular wellness calls, C.O.A.S.T. deputies can provide critical assistance during emergencies, power outages, and severe weather events.
Medication Delivery
Deputies can deliver medicine to enrolled seniors who are unable to leave their homes during emergencies or severe weather.
Water Delivery
Clean drinking water can be delivered to participants when access is disrupted due to power outages or weather emergencies.
Heating Fuel Delivery
Deputies can deliver kerosene, propane, and other heating fuel to seniors during power outages or dangerous cold-weather events.
How It Works

Enroll
Contact the Floyd County Sheriff's Office to register yourself or a loved one in the C.O.A.S.T. program at no cost.

Regular Check-In Calls
A trained deputy will call typically three times a week to check on the enrolled senior's welfare — with more frequent calls during urgent situations or severe weather.

Peace of Mind
Families and loved ones can rest easy knowing a trusted member of law enforcement is keeping a watchful eye.
Eligibility
Who Can Participate
The C.O.A.S.T. program is open to senior citizens residing in Floyd County, Kentucky. Family members may also contact us to enroll a loved one on their behalf.
